“The Voice” Judges Fire Back at Randy Jackson
0Closing out the week with a trio of talents, Ellen DeGeneres welcomed the coaches of “The Voice” to her daytime TV program for a pre-taping of an episode airing on Friday (February 3).
Grabbing seats on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” couches were Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton – who are trying their best to build up interest for their music competition series’ second season debut airing after Super Bowl XLVI on February 5th.
In a preview of the sitdown interview found below, Christina, Adam and Blake voiced their resentment over critical comments made by “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson, who dubbed “The Voice” as a “second chance place.”
In response, the always-outspoken Levine said, “Shame on Randy Jackson for saying that, because he, out of anyone, should know that if you’re in this business you need second, third, fourth and fifth chances. So we like and embrace that being part of the show.”
“You know, God bless Randy. He was a working musician for a long time and had a lot of success and then the show Idol kind of blew him out of the water. And he is a household name now. It was an irresponsible thing to say that,” the Maroon 5 rocker added.
It Takes A Village… To Win The Lottery??
070 households in an isolated farming village in Spain were having a tough time with an economic downturn and a huge drought.
Things were terrible.
So Spain has this huge Christmas lottery, right, called El Gordo. It’s a huge thing. People in the town weren’t even going to try it, but reluctantly did. They bought tickets because of the homemakers’ association which makes some money on the sales. It helps, right? Really, yes — in more ways than one!
The number hit — and all but one of the houses got a claim in the $ 950 million prize!
It happens to be the largest prize they’ve ever given, too!
A lot of the residents won millions, and even the lowest takers walked away with AT LEAST $ 130,000!!
They had all but given up hope and were unknown by many in the country — and now they’re being swarmed with opportunities and newcomers!
Such a wonderful tale… but we bet you’re wondering exactly what we were: what about that one house that didn’t win? Why didn’t they win?
His name is Costis Mitsotakis, a Greek filmmaker. He went to the village for the like of a woman, and that didn’t work out. He stayed anyway… and the homemakers association overlooked him this year as they made rounds.
That’s so HEARTBREAKING! We’d be furious and sooooooo upset!
But the excellent thing is that he’s being a excellent sport about it (at least in public!)!
“Mr. Mitsotakis said it would have been nice to win. But he has benefited nonetheless. He had been trying to sell some land without much success. The day after the lottery a neighbor called to say he would buy it. The next day another neighbor called. But Mr. Mitsotakis refused to get into a bidding war. ‘This is a small village,’ he said. ‘You don’t want terrible feelings.’
What an incredible thing to happen for that town!

Olivia Wilde Talks Divorce From Tao Ruspoli!

It couldn’t have been simple!
Olivia Wilde has opened up about her divorce from Tao Ruspoli, whom the 27-year-ancient married when she was just 18, and reveals that after everything was finalized, it took her a while to feel better – but in the end, it made her a better actress!
She clarifies:
“When you go through a breakup, you lose faith for a while. It makes you feel like such a failure, but I reckon this whole traumatic year has made me a better actor. And the excellent thing about getting divorced young – if there is a excellent thing – is that it makes you realize there’s no schedule in life. It blasts you wide open and frees you to be honest with yourself. The danger [with marrying young] is that you evolve over the years and find yourself in a different place. Tao was, and is, really involved with his work, and for me there’s nothing sexier than a man who is busy and obsessed with what he’s doing. I guess I saw that in my parents’ marriage. They had real respect for their work and for each other.”
Very vital qualities to find in a mate, we reckon!
Respect is so, SO vital!
And even though one marriage came to an end, she can take the lessons she learned the first time around and apply them to whatever relationship she embarks upon when the time comes!

Also starring Josh Hutcherson, Dwayne Johnson, Luis Guzman, Michael Caine and Kristin Davis. “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” swings into Stateside theaters on Friday, February 10th!

Brad Pitt Breaks From Press to Exercise His Artful Eye

Brad Pitt stopped by the Lehmann Maupin Gallery to check out their Sandro Kopp exhibit in NYC last night. Sandro is a German artist and the boyfriend of Tilda Swinton, who worked with Brad on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Burn After Reading. Brad’s been making the rounds chatting up Moneyball in the Huge Apple all week including a stop by the Today show and The Daily Show. He also visited Pace University to tape an episode of Inside the Actors Studio, which will air on Feb. 10.
Brad opened up about his family life in the interview by sharing a glimpse into their morning routine with the kids saying, “Listen, I admit there’s times like ‘We gotta get up. Get up! Here’s your shoes. Here’s your shoes. Drink this Coke. Drink this Coca-Cola. Drink it all. Right now! Drink it! Drink it! Drink it!’ Just so we could get ‘em up and going.” He’ll continue to be in the spotlight since he and Moneyball are up for Oscars, though we’ll have to wait until the huge show on Feb. 26 to see more of Brad and Angelina Jolie’s hot red-carpet moments.

Leslie Carter Was Battling An Addiction To Prescription Medication
0This just makes it all the more tragic.
Although the autopsy on Leslie Carter has yet to determine the cause of her sudden death, sources close to the family have revealed that the sister of Nick and Aaron Carter was battling an addiction to prescription medication, and had went from Canada to Upstate New York in an attempt to beat it.
While the family members she was staying with had tried to make the environment as safe and sober for her as possible, they left her alone for an hour to run some errands, and when they returned, she was unconscious.
Heartbreaking. Especially to reckon she was trying to get herself help.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends during this impossibly hard time.
