What Made Twilight Good And What Do You Wish Was Different?

In my debate class we are debating Twilight because it is so world wide and people have so many views on it. I need different people’s opinions so what do you reckon made Twilight excellent and what do you wish was different? Thanks!
(ex. It was excellent because of her writing but terrible because of the fact that Bella couldn’t do anything without Edward, I wish she was more independent.(

Do not, not, not, tell anyone it was excellent because of her writing. Her writing style is terrible, she’s said so herself. It’s excellent because it’s a form of entertainment (for some, I thought it was honestly dull), it’s terrible because it’s of small or no literary value.
As far as the morals in the book go, they’re also pretty terrible. Edward displays characteristics of a controlling/abusive boyfriend, Bella doesn’t stand up for herself in any way, shape, or form (and completely changes who she is as soon as Edward is introduced), and the entire storyline is poor in its use of literary tools and often contradicts itself.
If that’s not your opinion, don’t debate it like that, since it’ll come across that you don’t know/don’t believe in what you’re talking about, but it’s certainly something to consider. But you choose to debate it (you could, for instance, say that it’s excellent that teenagers are reading at all), it is best, if applicable, to look within the book itself and find excellent quotes/etc that prove or back up your point.
I would say that Twilight is a excellent book book because of all the charecters sound so real when they’re not mystical creatures and how it’s like life. (The first few chapters anyway.)
I’d change how sometimes the things are so out of order and you can’t even tell where/when you’re at.

No seriously, the reason it’s well loved is because it’s not a hard book to know. anyone can read it, and it holds no real deeper meaning. that’s why many teenagers are attracted to it. also bells is a very two-dimensional character so readers find it simple to slip into her perspective and relate to her. more complicated characters are more hard to relate to (this is why you hear a lot of girls saying “I’m exactly like bella from twilight!”). Twilight is a Trend. you aren’t anyone if you haven’t read it.
Now i will go back to impersonating a fictional character.
Twilight wasn’t excellent. It gets very ancient very quickly. Harry Potter is the way to go. So much better. Twilight has repetitive words, but Harry Potter has really excellent vocabulary. Plus, Harry Potter has a much better plot. And there is romance, for all you debating about that. I could continue forever, but I reckon I’ll end with Harry Potter’s last book was a thousand times better then Twilight’s. I’ve read the Twilight books 2 times and switched to HP. So much better. Thanks, I hope you switch too

I wish that in the movie, Edward was less…i don’t know…like stiff, I wish they made him pleased…like in the books.
I also wish that Bella wasn’t such a goodie.
-Like a wish she would hold grudges…like with Jacob (sorry Team Jacobers)
-She makes me feel like such a rebel, because i don’t cook my dad dinner and do his washing too
I also wish that SM had, had a bit more experience writing before she wrote Twilight so that it may of been a bit better quality read…(not that she is a terrible writer).
But overall I like the book, I don’t reckon it has too many faults.

Its the plot that makes it excellent. The fantasies so many people have about being with such a gorgeous creature like Edward. I LOVED the book. I thought it was very well detailed and fun to read. THe movie, but, was not as excellent as the book. The makeup ruined the movie for me. Very poorly done makeup and lots of excellent scenes left out from the book. I’m just starting to read New Moon and I like it already. After reading Twilight I want to know a Vampire. Its not like any other vampire movie or book. They are not vampires that kill every human they see and they don’t burn when they go into the sun. Its a fantastic book!
What really would have made Twilight excellent would have been if Bella wasn’t so desperate and she would have made Edward work a small harder. It would have made it a lot better.
I wish that Jacob was older than bella in age years, it would have made him more of a realistic opponent for edward and made the tale slightly more fascinating
The plot is what makes Twilight excellent.
I just wish Kristen Stewart didn’t have the part of Bella. She’s so terrible at acting.
I reckon that twilight was a fantastic book….its like forbidden like that no one could change but him. Im a girl and i delight in reading these types of tales its romantic in a cute kinda way.
It was excellent because I got to laugh at fan girls but terrible because Stephanie Meyer sucks
