Jennifer Lawrence Kicks Off “Hunger Games” Mall Tour

0

They only have a mere three weeks left until their much-awaited movie hits theaters, and the stars of “The Hunger Games” joined forces for a promotional event in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (March 3).

Among those on-hand to greet fans at the U.S. Mall Tour Kick-Off at Westfield Century City were leading lady Jennifer Lawrence, who was flanked by her hunky male co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.

With the trio’s shopping center meet and greet coming ahead of the book-based film’s March 23rd debut, the author of the best selling franchise, Suzanne Collins, recently took to Facebook to share how pleased she is with how the Gary Ross directed motion picture turned out.

Miss Collins wrote, “I’ve just had the opportunity to see the finished film of The Hunger Games. I’m really pleased with how it turned out. I feel like the book and the film are individual yet complementary pieces that enhance one another. The film opens up the world beyond Katniss’ point of view, allowing the audience access to the happenings of places like the Hunger Games control room and President Snow’s rose garden, thereby adding a new dimension to the tale. And, my God, the actors. The cast, led by the extraordinary Jennifer Lawrence, is absolutely wonderful across the board. It’s such a pleasure to see how they’ve embodied the characters and brought them to life.”

Josh Hutcherson Tells Us His Favorite Hunger Games Scene and Catches Up With Costars at His Cover Party

0

Josh Hutcherson was joined by several of his costars from The Hunger Games last night at a dinner to toast his new Nylon Guys cover in LA. We caught up with Josh inside the soiree to talk about being a part of one of this year’s most hotly anticipated movie events and why he felt an immediate connection to his character, Peeta Mellark. He also shared a small about his favorite scene in the close-to-finished cut of the film he recently watched, and told us about the moment on set that brought Jennifer Lawrence to tears. Here are some highlights:

PopSugar: Have you guys gotten to see the final cut of The Hunger Games?
Josh: Not final cut, but a very close to final cut, yeah.
PS: What was the coolest moment or scene for you [to watch]?
Josh: For me, honestly, my favorite scene is when it’s, like, the day before the games and Katniss and Peeta have that conversation. And that, for me, I thought was a really cool spot in the relationship because you kind of see the tenderness between them a small bit. So that meant a lot to me.
PS: I started reading the book and I really pictured you as Gale before I knew who was playing who. I’m curious, did you read for any other part?
Josh: Really? I mean, for me I had an immediate connection with Peeta. I felt like I was Peeta in so many ways, it kind of blew my mind a small bit. To the point when I really walked into the room to audition, and [author] Suzanne Collins and [director] Gary Ross were there, I said to them – I’ve never said this before in any audition and I’ll never say it again because it sounds disgusting – but I am so much like Peeta! Reading it, I was nearly like, ‘How did Suzanne Collins write a movie about my [kind of] person?’ It kind of blew my mind.

Jennifer Lawrence Talks “Hunger Games” Singing

0

It’s always exciting when our favorite books come alive through film, and Jennifer Lawrence recently discussed the book-to-movie translation of the Capitol in the upcoming picture “The Hunger Games.”

“[I'm excited to see] everything in the Capitol,” Lawrence said. “Every time we showed up at a Capitol scene, I was so blown away. Everything was more than you could have even imagined.”

But, as for her singing part in the flick, which is due out on March 23rd, the 21-year-ancient actress does not share the same excitement.

Of her “Rue’s Lullaby” number, Jen told, “I am a horrible singer. And I’m an even worse person to be around with I’m singing. I’m a terrible singer. I despised it.”

Jennifer Lawrence Is Singing In The Hunger Games!

0

All right! We have a excellent feeling about this!

Production of the film adaptation of The Hunger Games is well underway in Asheville, North Carolina, and apparently, sources at Echo Mountain Recording there have revealed that Jennifer Lawrence has been in the studio with music producer T. Bone Burnett, to work on some original music for the flick!

According to the insiders:

“T. Bone brought actress Jennifer Lawrence in to sing a haunting song he had written. The day they came in was the first day of shooting for the film but T. Bone had been working on the music for some time. If the music is any indication of how the movie is going to turn out, it’s going to be fantastic.”

Oh, shiz! We reckon we – and anyone who is familiar with the books – have a feeling as to what song they’re taking about!

And if it is, then we CANNOT WAIT to hear this!

Incredible incredible!

What do U reckon?? Are U looking forward to the film’s soundtrack??

The Hunger Games Is To Lionsgate As Twilight Was For Summit Entertainment

0

the-hunger-games-movie-lionsgate.jpg

Let’s get real here for a hot second.

Aside from movie execs really in the know, none of us knew what Summit Entertainment was five years ago. The small indie movie house that could was just one of several trying there damnedest to make a film that would place them on the map. Then, Twilight happened, and now, every kid out of film school is scrapping at the bit to get the receptionist job at their Santa Monica office just to get in cahoots with their team (or, you know, to see Robert Pattinson.)

Mark our words – and the words of the studio’s executives – the same thing is going to happen to Lionsgate now that they are producing The Hunger Games. Yes, we’re comparing the franchises again and yes, we know we risk a backlash in doing so, but seriously, you can’t deny what Twilight did for Summits rep and the same is going to happen to Lionsgate, maybe even on a grander scale.

Lionsgate executives divulged to The Wall Street Journal this week that the studio made a fortune selling Suzanne Collins’ trilogy, which will be turned into four actions movies (of course), at Cannes this past week. COO Joe Drake revealed it was “the highest selling film we’ve ever had” at the festival and that overseas exhibitors consider it “the movie that can change their company.” But, don’t expect to see exactly how many nickels and dimes the studio raked in for the flick – they are keeping mum – but it should be noted that the studio bought the rights to the books series before became such a huge success and therefore, got a very excellent deal on it.

In other words, the profits they stand to make on this are be REDUNKULOUS!

Considering how buzz its getting just in the casting stages, we’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that this is going to blow Twilight’s records out of the water.

Reckon U can top the Twi-hards, Tributes? (Or is it Mockingjays? We’re still wondering what to call you guys.)
