John McCain is complaining about the TV again- too many darn channels!
Only this time the Arizona Senator is complaining on the Senate floor! He’s introducing a bill called the TV Consumer Freedom Act of 2013.
The bill would force cable providers to sell packages of “à la carte” channels- in other words, custom packages designed by the consumer! He says:
“There’s an dreadful lot of people who don’t consume [200 channels], and most of us want to look for creative solutions.
This is unfair and incorrect — especially when you consider how the regulatory deck is stacked in favor of industry and against the American consumer.”
It’s nearly like the septuagenarian has never heard of bit torrents… LOLz!
In the long run, this could really help cable companies by re-capturing young people- who are accustomed to getting what they want when they want on the Internet.

If there is one person who looked Hollywood dead in the eye without flinching, it was Roger Ebert!
There isn’t a man, woman, or child in the film industry who was immune to a thumbs down when it was warranted!!
Roger adored movies, though, and it showed.
His enduring passion and elegant honesty earned him the respect of colleagues and filmmakers alike — even those he occasionally skewered in a terrible review!!
And absolutely no one is surprised that Hollywood’s largest names are already showering the man who passed just hours ago with gorgeous and well-deserved eulogies.
“Roger loved movies. They were his life. His reviews went far deeper than simply thumbs up or thumbs down. He wrote with passion through a real knowledge of film and film history, and in doing so, helped many movies find their audiences. Along with Gene Shalit, Joel Siegel, and of course Gene Siskel, Roger place television criticism on the map. Roger’s passing is virtually the end of an era and now the balcony is closed forever.”
Raging Bull director Martin Scorsese was equally passionate.
“The death of Roger Ebert is an incalculable loss for movie culture and for film criticism. And it’s a loss for me personally. Roger was always supportive, he was always right there for me when I needed it most, when it really counted – at the very beginning, when every word of encouragement was precious; and then again, when I was at the lowest ebb of my career, there he was, just as encouraging, just as warmly supportive. There was a professional distance between us, but then I could talk to him much more freely than I could to other critics. Really, Roger was my friend. It’s that simple.
Few people I’ve known in my life loved or cared as much about movies. I know that’s what kept him going in those last years – his life-or-death passion for movies, and his wonderful wife, Chaz.
We all knew that this moment was coming, but that doesn’t make the loss any less wrenching. I’ll miss him — my dear friend, Roger Ebert.”
Even mega-producer Harvey Weinstein, an industry titan of legendary surliness, was nothing small of appreciative of Roger’s legacy.
“Roger Ebert was a passionate critic who understood that he needed to not only appraise films but be a champion of cinema. He was always on the side of movies that needed that extra push. The only thing that tops him as a writer was his kindness as a human being. I will miss Roger very much and my heart goes out to Chaz and the entire family.”
One thing is clear: The late critic will be deeply missed by everyone who likes likes movies even half as much as he did.
Roger Ebert was 70 years ancient and is survived by his wife Chaz.

Celebrity feud #459,034 is in high gear!
Alec Baldwin has been plenty miserable with his former Orphans costar Shia LaBeouf since he released some private emails hinting at creative differences, and time is most certainly not healing this wound.
“The theater belongs not to the fantastic but to the brash.”
So, what did Alec reckon about this small comment? You better believe he didn’t hold back one ounce!
“I can tell you that, in all honesty, I don’t reckon he’s in a excellent position to be giving interpretations of what the theater is and what the theater isn’t. I mean, he was never in the theater. He came into a rehearsal room for six or seven days and, uh — you know, sometimes film actors — I mean, there are people who are film actors who have a fantastic legacy in the theater. Some of the greatest movie stars had really serious theater careers and still do. And many film actors, though, who are purely film actors, they’re kind of like celebrity chefs, you know what I mean? You hand them the ingredients, and they whip it up, and they cook it, and they place it on a plate, and they want a round of applause. In the theater, we don’t just cook the food and serve it. You go out in the garden and you plant the seeds and you grow it. You know, it’s a really very, very long, slow, deliberate — it’s the opposite of film acting. It’s a much more intensive and kind of thoughtful process. And there are people who that’s just not their thing. So for those people who I reckon it’s not their thing, I’m not really interested in their opinion of it. But thanks.”
Shia just got serrrrrrrrrrrved!
Considering how outspoken Shia has been lately, we wouldn’t be surprised if he takes the bait and responds.
This feud might just be starting up!

Woo! Those pregnancy cravings are in full force!
And baby Kimye isn’t messin’ around!
As we all know by now, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are preggers with a golden K baby…. AND, the two have made it pretty public that they have a mutual like for all things k-k-k-k-k-k-ancient, like ice cream and froyo.
That’s why it was no surprise that the two lovebirds took a stroll down to the Farmer’s Market at The Grove in El Lay for an icy post-New Year’s treat.
While perusing through the shops, Kimye stopped in at Pinkberry to pick up a chocolate hazelnut yogurt in a cone for her and a plain yogurt with strawberry and caramel toppings for him.
Yummy! Bet that got that small baby to just flip around in Kimmy’s womb!
We know Kim enjoys counting carbs, but now that she’s nesting a small bundle of joy in her tummy, she has all the excuses in the world to place whatever she wants in her mouth! Go for it, Kim! Indulge while you can!
And don’t forget to take a looksie (below) at more pics of Kimye’s pleased times togetherness!

While Yeezy and Kimmy might’ve kept their pregnancy a secret from the public up until last night, one report says she’s already about three months along!
That would mean baby Kimye could quite possibly make its grand entrance into the world as early as late June or early July!
Although the due date has yet to be confirmed by the mama-to-be herself, we are getting SUPER excited to see that growing baby bump!!!

Jennifer Garner and a smiling Seraphina Affleck were out and about in LA yesterday. Seraphina was seen skipping, laughing, and even scoring a piggyback ride from Jen during their day out. The busy mom may have been dressed down in workout gear yesterday, but just last week, she looked lovely in a Valentino dress at the Toronto International Film Festival. Jen was by Ben Affleck‘s side in Canada, where he premiered his third directorial endeavor, Argo. Check out our review of Argo and, in case you’ve missed any of the action, be sure to catch up on all the celebrities at TIFF so far.
Taylor Kitsch takes the helm of this month’s Battleship as a rookie Navy officer who finds himself charged with saving the world after aliens attack. We caught up with the actor at a recent press day for the action-packed adventure, where we chatted about his relationship with director Peter Berg and his adopted hometown of Austin. Taylor chose to place down roots in Texas after shooting FNL and said he especially likes that people there “don’t give a sh*t” about fame or Hollywood. During our chat, we also questioned Taylor if he’s made any grand gestures for like, given that his character gets tasered and arrested in the process of tracking down a late-night burrito for the object of his affection. See his answer in the video and catch Battleship in theaters on May 18!
Oh, how we want to have a backseat romance with the lusty Adrian Grenier!
The multi-talented actor, filmmaker, and now singer and musician is back with another collaboration from his very own Wreck Room Records, based out of Brooklyn, NY.
Adrian teams up with Emily Caldwell on this hauntingly gorgeous track about young romance in the backseat of a car. Uh-huh.
Turn up the volume and listen to Passenger (above)!
Her vocals are what are dreams are made of. And watching Adrian strum that guitar ain’t too terrible either…
The Welsh artist is one of our FAVS and now we have our hands on the acoustic version of Starring Role, which she performed on UK radio station 96.9 Viking FM!
