It seems only appropriate as “New Moon,” the latest installment in the Twilight movie series continues to bring fans into the theaters that I talk about my wife and our perfect Las Vegas wedding.

We’re both huge fans of the whole vampire genre. I’ve been immersed in it since first reading Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” way back in public school. I considered having prosthetic fangs glued onto my teeth when I went through my rebellious teen phase, but quickly realized that was a path that could only end in schoolyard beatings, so I opted to remain undercover. I met my (future) wife at a goth-themed dance party in college. Bauhaus was playing “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” when I first questioned her out. She was more a right Goth than a vampire fan back then, but she’s switched sides so to speak, after getting hooked on Stephenie Meyers’ “Twilight” book series. When I proposed to her, one of the first things we talked about was having a wedding that reflected our interests and how weddings in Las Vegas always seemed to be the way to go when looking for a ceremony that’s off the beaten track.

When we looked into the possibility of a Los Vegas wedding, we were a small worried that our particular theme might not be something they could deal with. I mean, we’ve all seen the Elvis-themed wedding in Las Vegas, but I wasn’t sure that the undead would be something any of the chapels would be comfortable in handling. Turns out that I was incorrect. When we checked out vivalosvegasweddings.com, we found that they offered packages designed around everything from the Blues Brothers to the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and they had exactly the one we were hoping for: When Vampires Glide.

Most of our friends and family had never been to Nevada before and they were thrilled to be going to Vegas. It’s hard to beat the weather they get there and no one needs to be told about the entertainment that’s available if you’re going to weddings in Los Vegas. The ceremony itself was perfect. The chapel supplied a minister in costume as a vampire, the music was suitably creepy and the package included a pair of female vampires who rose from the grave during the ceremony and flew into the air together! Of course the place was full of tombstones, eerie lighting and loads of fog, so a suitably chilling atmosphere was made. After what we experienced and the comments we received from our guests, I have to say that Los Vegas weddings are the way to go.

There, I said it.

His name is Edward Cullen and he’s the lead character in the book Twilight, the first in a series of four books (five if you count the most recent partial transcript posted online) written by Stephanie Meyer.

The tale goes something like this – Bella, a Plain Jane high school student whose parents are divorced, moves to Forks, Washington to live with her dad. At Forks High School, she meets Edward Cullen, a beyond gorgeous fellow high schooler with pale skin, extraordinary physical capabilities and a slew of weird behaviors nobody can clarify.

Since Twilight saga is very well loved nowadays, I want to introduce another vampire tale on a very different scale from Twilight called Vampire Knight. As the title suggests, it is about vampires and the struggle of Yuki Cross, Kuran Kaname, and Zero Kiryu. Yuki is the adopted daughter of Kaien Cross, Headmaster of the CrossAcademy. She attends the day class together with Zero. Yuki and Zero is the prefect of the said school and have the purpose of making a world that a vampire and human could coexist. Kaname attends the night class of the same academy. He is a pure blood vampire which is the ruling class of the vampire world and an extremely rare vampire in their world. He and his ‘friends’ is the vampire which also believes that vampires could coexist with humans.

Zero is slowly becoming a Level E vampire – a vampire bitten by a pure blood, which is the lowest kind of vampire in the vampire world. He despises this so much that he wanted to kill himself but Yuki helped him to control the bloodlust. in due course, it is exposed that Yuki is a pureblood vampire herself, the sister and fiancee of Kaname. To save Yuki from being killed by Kuran Rido, Kaname’s uncle, her mother had conserved her memories shortly before her own death. After Yuki remembered everything, Rido again tries to kill her. While Kaname kills the vampire senate, Yuki fought Rido. During the fierce battle, Zero aids her in killing him, but then turns his gun on her, saying he will kill all of the pureblood vampires…

Vampire Knight is a romance, mystery and a tragedy type of tale. It has a nice tale that conveys another version of a vampire world. Much different from what Stephanie Meyer had imagined, but still has a nice plot. Tale aside, I really like the design of their uniform. It has a certain charm and a really nice colors. I also like the fact that Yuki is a vampire. I thought that she is a helpless human until the end, but turns out, she is quite powerful herself. I just don’t like the thought of Yuki and Kaname, biological siblings, is engaged. Aside from that, I still reckon the tale is excellent.
