Another Peter Pan Movie Is On The Way!

0

WOO HOO!!!

Who doesn’t like Peter Pan?

Disney is adapting Peter and the Starcatchers for the huge screen and has already hired a writer to start working on the screenplay.

The 2004 children’s novel is a prequel to the classic tale and was recently adapted into a hit Broadway production which was nominated for nine Tony Awards.

Since there have been four sequels published already, this could very well turn into the next huge franchise for the studio.

Although this is a rehash of ancient material, at least we’re going to see the titular character embark on a groundbreaking new adventure.

Dakota Fanning Is Going To Bring The Water Works In Her New Movie Now Is Good!

0

Oh excellent lord.

Get the tissues out now. We’re warning you!

It appears that Dakota Fanning is taking the Mandy Moore in A Walk to Remember route for her next movie, Now Is Excellent, as she plays a 17 year ancient girl who decides to stop treating her leukemia so can she spend the rest of her limited life doing the things that she’d like to, before she passes away!

And of course, things are complicated when she falls for her neighbor, played by War Horse‘s Jeremy Irvine.

Check out the just-released trailer (above)!

Yeah. We’re already choking back tears.

It DOES look genuinely very excellent and amusing, on top of the obvious sads, and Dakota’s pretty brilliant in everything in which she stars, so yeah!

We’ll certainly be checking this out! How about U?

From Board Game To Movie To Video Game! Battleship Is Coming To Consoles!

0

Just imagine if they DID make a new Battleship game for Sega Genesis! eBay traffic would go through the roof! Ha!

Yesterday, Activision and Hasbro announced a new video game based on the upcoming Battleship movie.

Here’s what Activision Publishing’s David Oxford had to say about it:

“We’re geared up for an outrageous sea and land conflict with the all new BATTLESHIP videogame. Inspired by the film’s exciting action and stunning backdrop, the game is next-gen naval warfare that thrusts players into the middle of humanity’s last stand against an unfamiliar menace.”

And here’s what Hasbro’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of Digital Media and Marketing Mark Blecher had to say about it:

“With a BATTLESHIP videogame, we have an incredible opportunity to take our beloved property and give it a modern-day spin. The merging of tactical and action elements immerses players in an epic maritime conflict. Activision is completely up to the task of delivering a high-intensity thrill ride that’s perfectly suited for today’s console owners.”

The game will be released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 this May. Other versions of the game will be released on Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo DS.

We just hope they’re able to get some of the actors from the movie to do voiceover! We’d LIKE to see RiRi in a video game!!!!

What do U reckon? Will U check out the Battleship video game when it gets released???

Ads For Tom Hanks’ New 9/11 Movie Causes Controversy In New York

0

We’re going with the majority on this one; it is rather insensitive.

With Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close out in theaters now, ads for the film are plastered everywhere across the country, but mainly in major cities like Chicago, Los Angeles … and of course, New York City.

While the studio has every right to promote their movie in the city where the horrific real life tragedy took place, it is more the placement of their ads that have people concerned. Namely, several video ads — with footage of the burning towers — have been playing at subway stops surrounding Ground Zero in Manhattan. Many New Yorkers have complained (see above), considering the ads very distasteful.

Upon hearing the complaints, WB released this statement, saying:

“It was never our intention to cause any distress. As a result, we will make best efforts to pull the material from pertinent locations.”

Really. New York is a pretty huge place. No sense making people sad and uncomfortable like that just for the sake of money. You can saturate them with your ads someplace else, someplace that doesn’t hit so close to home.

Do U agree?

Rick Perry Sees A Movie, Automatically Changes His Stance On Abortion

0

Rick Perry recently saw a movie, you guys, and it was so excellent that it changed his stance on abortion.

It wasn’t just any movie, either. It was a movie produced by Oscar award winning producer Mike Huckabee, and Citizens United called The Gift Of Life.

Wait, we’re sorry. Mike Huckabee isn’t oscar award winning. In fact, he’s just the former Arkansas governor and Natalie Portman Pregnancy Expert who once said, “Politics are really directed by worldview. That’s why when people say, ‘We ought to separate politics from religion,’ I say to separate the two is absolutely impossible.”

So the movie was probably really impartial.

Anyway, Perry sees this flick and chose that ALL abortions shouldn’t be allowed, even though he has been standing behind the thought that abortions in cases of rape and abuse should be treated differently.

Perry calls this a “transformation.”

“You’re seeing a transformation. It was … when the lady who was in (The Gift of Life) was looking me in the eye and said ‘you really need to reckon this through.’ She said ‘I am the product of a rape’ and she said ‘my life is worth (it).’ It was a powerful moment.”

“All I can tell you was God was working on my heart.”

Really? Swayed by one movie? That’s all it takes for you to change a steadfast stance on something?

We wonder if his stance on oil tycoons changed after viewing The Muppets, or his stance on putting thoughts into peoples’ heads through dreams changed after watching Inception.

Regardless of your abortion stance, this really sounds like a ploy to get conservative voters to support him.
