Ads For Tom Hanks’ New 9/11 Movie Causes Controversy In New York
0We’re going with the majority on this one; it is rather insensitive.
With Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close out in theaters now, ads for the film are plastered everywhere across the country, but mainly in major cities like Chicago, Los Angeles … and of course, New York City.
While the studio has every right to promote their movie in the city where the horrific real life tragedy took place, it is more the placement of their ads that have people concerned. Namely, several video ads — with footage of the burning towers — have been playing at subway stops surrounding Ground Zero in Manhattan. Many New Yorkers have complained (see above), considering the ads very distasteful.
Upon hearing the complaints, WB released this statement, saying:
“It was never our intention to cause any distress. As a result, we will make best efforts to pull the material from pertinent locations.”
Really. New York is a pretty huge place. No sense making people sad and uncomfortable like that just for the sake of money. You can saturate them with your ads someplace else, someplace that doesn’t hit so close to home.
Do U agree?

Rick Perry Sees A Movie, Automatically Changes His Stance On Abortion
0Rick Perry recently saw a movie, you guys, and it was so excellent that it changed his stance on abortion.
It wasn’t just any movie, either. It was a movie produced by Oscar award winning producer Mike Huckabee, and Citizens United called The Gift Of Life.
Wait, we’re sorry. Mike Huckabee isn’t oscar award winning. In fact, he’s just the former Arkansas governor and Natalie Portman Pregnancy Expert who once said, “Politics are really directed by worldview. That’s why when people say, ‘We ought to separate politics from religion,’ I say to separate the two is absolutely impossible.”
So the movie was probably really impartial.
Anyway, Perry sees this flick and chose that ALL abortions shouldn’t be allowed, even though he has been standing behind the thought that abortions in cases of rape and abuse should be treated differently.
Perry calls this a “transformation.”
“You’re seeing a transformation. It was … when the lady who was in (The Gift of Life) was looking me in the eye and said ‘you really need to reckon this through.’ She said ‘I am the product of a rape’ and she said ‘my life is worth (it).’ It was a powerful moment.”
“All I can tell you was God was working on my heart.”
Really? Swayed by one movie? That’s all it takes for you to change a steadfast stance on something?
We wonder if his stance on oil tycoons changed after viewing The Muppets, or his stance on putting thoughts into peoples’ heads through dreams changed after watching Inception.
Regardless of your abortion stance, this really sounds like a ploy to get conservative voters to support him.

They’re Making A Party Down Movie!!
0It’s a Christmas miracle!!
Parks and Recreation star Adam Scott confirmed a Party Down is in the works!!
The Scott says:
“We have a treatment and if everyone’s schedules work out, we’ll shoot it over the summer.”
Did Adam write the movie? That’s sounds amazical!
Now all that’s apparently needed is for Starz to sign off on the project.
Why wouldn’t they? Turing the fantastic (and really underrated) TV show into a movie is the greatest thought we’ve heard since the Arrested Development movie!
“Are we having fun yet?” GAWD, we CANNOT wait!!
Scarlett Johansson Would Love To Do A Black Widow Movie!
0The more we reckon about it, the more we want to see this!
During a recent interview, Avengers star Scarlett Johansson opened up about the possibility of a Black Widow spin-off movie…and it seems like she’s all about it!
“I like playing the Widow. I reckon she’s got a very fascinating past, a lot of storylines to explore, and certainly Kevin (Feige) likes that character. I reckon that Marvel has a very personal relationship with their fans, and I reckon if the fans want it, and the audience wants it, nothing’s impossible. I want to explore that option as well. Like I said, I like the character and it would be nice to see something nice and gritty.”
A gritty Black Widow movie sounds fantastic to us, ScarJo! And since it’s quite clear that The Avengers is going to be a hit, we’d say U’ll get that spin-off opportunity for sure!
What do U reckon? Would U like to see Scarlett/Black Widow in her own movie???
