Diablo Cody Talks Sweet Valley High Movie!

0

Wowsa! Between this SVH update and our gallery of 90s TV shows, we’ve been having a seriously nostalgic day!

Waaaaay back in March ’10, we had heard that Juno writer Diablo Cody had a Sweet Valley High script in the works!

Now, progress is being made on the SVH movie, and Diablo has got some updates for us:

“That is moving forward. I need to talk to the producers and see how much I can say about it. It’s closer to reality than ever but I can’t freely talk about it.”

“I want it to be wonderfully nostalgic. I want it to be to the ’80s what American Graffiti was to the [early] ’60s. I want it to be looking back on a really cool time and enjoying yourself and I want it to be glamorous and colorful and bubblegum and a feast for the senses. That’s my plot.”

We are SO ready for this! And maybe after that, U can also write a new Baby-sitter’s Club movie, Diablo!

Reckon about it!

Leonardo DiCaprio Takes On Another Gay Role In Next Movie

0

Okay, so we’re not 100% sure if J. Edgar is being depicted as gay in Clint Eastwood’s film, but it’s becoming quite clear that Leo is very comfortable with gay subject matter.

Warner Bros announced that Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in a biopic about Alan Turing, who was “one of the most prominent math geniuses during World War II.”

The screenplay called The Imitation Game was written by first-time screenwriter Graham Moore AND it sold to WB for SEVEN FIGURES! Quite a first sale for the newcomer writer!!!!!

The script is based on Andrew Hodges‘ biography entitled Alan Turing: The Enigma, and the tale has been described as follows:

“[The tale follows] the life and times of the brilliant British mathematician and criminally prosecuted homosexual whose tortured soul drove him to suicide by consuming a cyanide-laced apple.”

Sounds like a sad, but vital film. We’ll certainly check it out when it gets released!

What do U reckon? Is Leo right for this role?

Sigh a breath of relief, Entourage fans.

Mark Wahlberg has confirmed he’s on the same page as the rest of you.

On the Emmy red carpet, the series mastermind told Mario Lopez:

So what about an Entourage movie?

Yeah, for sure. You saw the way it finished. After the credits, Jeremy Piven‘s character is in Italy with his wife and he gets a huge phone call. I reckon that’s obviously going to cause a lot of tension within his relationship. And the guys are going to have to go back to where it started. We’ve been talking about the movie non-stop. That’s the goal.

So there you have it!

Unless something crazy happens, chances are lookin’ pretty excellent to see the boys on the huge screen. So the heads will finally match those egos!

SJP Opens Up About Her Babies & Another Sex And The City Movie

0

We’ll get to the kiddies in a second, but can we just say how thrilled we are that Sarah Jessica Parker is not only admitting that a third Sex & The City movie is in the works, but also that she’s given serious thought to it. That shows some loyalty. Bravo!

This Parade has an extensive interview with the momma/actress about how she juggles her three kids and her career. It’s obviously not a simple task, but its one SJP takes a lot of pride in.

Here are some of the HIGHlights from her interview:

On James Wilkie wanting to be an actor and keen to start auditioning: “I don’t want him to do it until after he goes to college: But part of me thinks maybe it’s better if he knows the truth now about how hard it is to be a working actor. I don’t know that he grasps what it took to get us here.”

On the difficulty of balancing career and motherhood: “We’ve had two occasions recently where both Matthew and I were working, and it was so hard on the kids. Especially James Wilkie, because he can really articulate how he feels about our absence. On the other hand, there are huge chunks of time when we’re home a lot more than conventionally working parents. So you hope to make up for it.”

On fraternal twins Loretta and Tabitha: “They’re talking, they’re running, they need me. Loretta is deeply inquisitive: ‘Do you see that, do you hear that, Mama?’ She constantly checks that we are connecting with her.” Her sister is the family princess: “Tabitha does not give; she receives.”

On using babysitters, but not live-in help: “We like closing the door and having the only people in the house be our three children and us. It’s such a excellent feeling to know that we’re competent and capable and that it’s private.”

On any chance for a third Sex and the City movie: “There is. I know what the tale is. It’s a small tale, but I reckon it should be told. The question is, what’s the right time to tell it?”

The right time … is now!

NOW! NOW! NOW!
