It’s Official! Netflix Launches In The UK And Ireland
0Let’s hope they do it right this time!
Back in October, we first heard about Netflix’s plans to expand and offer services in Ireland and the U.K.
Now, the company has officially launched their service overseas! Here are some highlights from the press release:
“Netflix, Inc., the leading global internet subscription service for films and TV programmes, launches today in the United Kingdom and Ireland , offering instant and unlimited access to a broad range of entertainment for the low monthly price of 5.99 Pounds Sterling in the UK and euro 6.99 in Ireland.”
“‘We are starting 2012 in the best possible way: by giving consumers in the UK and Ireland an incredible entertainment experience,’ said Reed Hastings, co-founder and chief executive officer of Netflix. ‘Now, you can delight in as many fantastic films and TV programmes as you want, when you want, where you want, for one low monthly price with no contracts or commitments.’”
“At launch, Netflix is offering films and TV programmes from All3Media, the BBC, CBS, Channel 4′s 4oD, Disney UK & Ireland, ITV, Lionsgate UK, MGM, Miramax, Momentum Pictures, NBCUniversal, Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox and Viacom International Media Networks.”

Melissa Gilbert Makes It Official, Files For Divorce
0Another broken Hollywood marriage.
After nearly six months of separating from her husband Bruce Boxleitner, Melissa Gilbert has officially filed for divorce.
According to court docs, she blames the split on irreconcilable differences and she’s asking for joint legal and physical custody of their son Michael.
They were married for 16 years.
It’s always sad to see another Hollywood split. Especially when the couple was married for so long.

It’s Official! Mariah Is Coming To BOTH UK And US Versions Of X Factor!
0What a fantastic way to incorporate her into the franchise!
It appears that not only will Miz Mariah Carey be appearing on the US version of the X Factor, but she’ll also have a significant role on the UK version, as well!
According to sources, she and Simon Cowell have been in discussions for the past eight weeks, and are plotting to meet in Cannes this weekend to finalize a deal that will place the diva in the judges’ house as a mentor during the US segment, and then as a one-time judge on the UK version!
A source clarifies:
“Simon has made a unique role just for Mariah after plans for her to be in the original US judging line-up fell through. Four months after having her babies, Mariah is ready to get back to business; she has lost so much weight for her small screen debut. The thought is for Mariah to help Simon at the judges’ houses stage of the US show, as well as helping the other judges. It has yet to be confirmed, but the other plot is for her to be given a special, one-off fifth judge role on the British show.”
Sounds like we’re going to be getting quite a bit of Mimi on both series!
Here’s hoping it goes over well – we’d like to see her return as judge in the second season! She’d be AH-mazing!

It’s Official! Charlie Sheen To Star In Anger Management TV Show!
0God save us all, someone really let this happen and now it’s official.
Charlie Sheen has officially signed on to a new television series, a comedy sitcom based off of the Adam Sandler/Jack Nicholson movie Rage Management.
The show is to be produced by Lionsgate Television, and alongside producer Joe Roth, the actor will be retaining “a significant owenership stake” in it.
He reveals:
“I chose Rage Management because, while it might be a huge stretch for me to play a guy with serious rage management issues, I reckon it is a fantastic concept. It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth.”
And Roth agrees:
“Who better than Charlie Sheen to tackle Rage Management. With Charlie’s incredible talent and comedic gifts, he remains the leading man of TV sitcoms. I’m excited to collaborate with him once again.”
Now we’ll never be rid of him. Fantastic.
Honestly, it doesn’t even feel so much legit as it feels like him using this solely as an opportunity to thumb his nose once again at Chuck Lorre and the team at Two and a Half Men.
Has anyone even though about this show’s potential as a series, instead of just a way for Charlie Sheen to re-brand himself?
We certainly hope so! The last thing we want to deal with is any more of this guy’s petulant, unstable behavior when things aren’t going his way!

Harry Potter‘s final film not only scored the largest midnight debut and opening day, but it also grabbed the prize for largest opening weekend E-V-E-R!
Cray-zay!
Opening with $ 168.6 million in its domestic opening weekend, Deathly Hallows Part 2 obliterated the competition and knocked The Dark Knight‘s $ 158.4 million opening off its number 1 pedestal.
Warner Bros. is clearly king of the blockbuster movies!
The movie earned $ 15.5 million in just IMAX theaters alone and a mind-blowing $ 307 million in 59 countries, clearly surpassing Pirates of the Caribbean: On Weirder Tides, which just recently took the crown for largest international movie.

A day removed from their fairytale nuptials, Prince William and the newly-titled Duchess Catherine have made their official wedding portraits available for public viewing.
Certainly quite the elegant couple, Will and Kate posed for the trio of photos – with the lovely pair surrounded by their flower girls and young ushers in one adorable shot.
The bride and groom also stood tall for a couple’s portrait at the Buckingham Palace locale while flanked by the royal family in the third regal offering.
Dressed in their ceremony garb, Miss Middleton confirmed speculation while dressed in a Sarah Burton designed gown while William donned a Royal Navy Number One Dress uniform.
