Comic Book Fans, Rejoice! Watchmen Is Getting A Prequel Series!
0This will be extremely EXCITING news for many…and absolutely HORRIFIC news for others…
We’ve just learned that DC Comics has plans to publish seven “comic-book mini-series,” which will “continue the tales of the adventurers introduced in Watchmen, which was written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons.”
The prequel series is being referred to as Before Watchmen, and it is scheduled to start up this summer.
This is a VERY controversial go by DC, because original Watchmen writer Alan Moore will not be involved, and he’s referring to these prequel comics as “completely shameless.”
Here’s what Moore had to say about it:
“I tend to take this latest development as a kind of keen confirmation that they are still apparently dependent on thoughts that I had 25 years ago.”
And here’s what DC Entertainment co-publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee had to say about it:
“It’s our responsibility as publishers to find new ways to keep all of our characters relevant. After 25 years the Watchmen are classic characters whose time has come for new tales to be told.”
What do U reckon? Should DC leave Watchmen alone because it’s a classic? Or do U reckon they’re making the right go by exploring that universe further???

The Big O Is Coming Back To TV With New OWN Series!
0Hey! We guess sometimes the only way to get something done is to do it yourself!
Although Oprah Winfrey had plotted to stay behind the cameras when she launched her network, OWN, the ratings have been so abysmal that the TV talk icon will be heading back on the air, for a groundbreaking new show, called Oprah’s Next Chapter, set to premiere in January, on which she’ll visit with the likes of Steven Tyler at his house in New Hampshire, travel to Haiti with Sean Penn, and have a slumber party with Paula Deen!
Sounds as though it could be fun!
But will it be what the network needs to boost its abysmal ratings?
What do U reckon??

Niecy Nash Gets Her Own Reality Series!
0Well it’s a fantastic year for Niecy Nash isn’t it??
She got married, TLC aired her wedding, landed a TV Land sitcom, and now she just landed her own reality series!
Since Niecy Nash Wedding Bash drew in 5 million viewers, TLC wants to experiment and shoot eight episodes of Niecy’s blended family life.
Niecy says her family life is a lot like the Brady Bunch:
There’s a lot of like in our house, but also a lot of mayhem and foolishness – all the kids are acting crazy, I’m busier than ever, and Jay’s never raised girls before. We hope our fans welcome us into their homes… we need the room!
Ha! Sounds fun! We’d certainly like to try it out and see how it does. America could use another blended family on tv!

New Facebook Web Series Wants To Use Your Profile
0A new series from Warner Bros, which they’re calling a “social series,” will take it’s music and pictures from fans’ Facebook pages and use them in the show.
Sounds kinda gimmicky.
The show is being brought to us by director McG, who did the Charlie’s Angels movies and the not-so-fantastic Terminator Salvation.
Here’s what the show is about:
“Aim High,” which will debut on October 18 and run for six episodes, stars Jackson Rathbone of “Twilight” fame as a high school student turned government operative named Nick Green who goes on weekly, top-secret adventures.
While Green’s tale will feature action — McG’s other film directing credits include “Terminator Salvation” and he was executive producer on TV’s “Nikita” — and Rathbone is a key draw, the real star is not the actor. It is you.
At least there’s a Twilight guy in it, right?
Here’s what McG has to say personally:
“The show becomes personal,” McG told Reuters. “Music that the characters are listening to comes from your playlist, pictures on the walls, TV screens and picture frames inside the show are from your profile.”
It uses a computer program to do this:
As Nick performs his spy duties in his high school’s hallway, he may pass a poster for a class president candidate and the picture on it is you. Or, the end credits might have photos of your friends when listing Nick’s spy accomplices.
So really, it only tailors it to you while you’re watching? Is that what we’re understanding here?
Wouldn’t it be cooler to have it be random and have the entire audience watching see the lucky fan?
Who knows. This sounded kinda cool at first, now it just seems like another way to invade privacy!
Thanks, Zuck and McG!
