It seems like every year the Twilight series and its cast run away with the night’s honors at the MTV Movie Awards, and we’ll be watching to see if they do it again this weekend. In anticipation of the huge show, let’s take a look back at some of the most memorable Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner moments from the past awards – including Robert and Kristen’s recurring will-they-or-won’t-they-kiss routine! The Hunger Games Is To Lionsgate As Twilight Was For Summit Entertainment

Let’s get real here for a hot second.
Aside from movie execs really in the know, none of us knew what Summit Entertainment was five years ago. The small indie movie house that could was just one of several trying there damnedest to make a film that would place them on the map. Then, Twilight happened, and now, every kid out of film school is scrapping at the bit to get the receptionist job at their Santa Monica office just to get in cahoots with their team (or, you know, to see Robert Pattinson.)
Mark our words – and the words of the studio’s executives – the same thing is going to happen to Lionsgate now that they are producing The Hunger Games. Yes, we’re comparing the franchises again and yes, we know we risk a backlash in doing so, but seriously, you can’t deny what Twilight did for Summits rep and the same is going to happen to Lionsgate, maybe even on a grander scale.
Lionsgate executives divulged to The Wall Street Journal this week that the studio made a fortune selling Suzanne Collins’ trilogy, which will be turned into four actions movies (of course), at Cannes this past week. COO Joe Drake revealed it was “the highest selling film we’ve ever had” at the festival and that overseas exhibitors consider it “the movie that can change their company.” But, don’t expect to see exactly how many nickels and dimes the studio raked in for the flick – they are keeping mum – but it should be noted that the studio bought the rights to the books series before became such a huge success and therefore, got a very excellent deal on it.
In other words, the profits they stand to make on this are be REDUNKULOUS!
Considering how buzz its getting just in the casting stages, we’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that this is going to blow Twilight’s records out of the water.
Reckon U can top the Twi-hards, Tributes? (Or is it Mockingjays? We’re still wondering what to call you guys.)

Twilight Security Is TIGHT! No Scripts Allowed Off Breaking Dawn Set!

Who memorizes lines, anyway?
Summit Entertainment’s security on the Breaking Dawn set is SO tight that they aren’t even allowing anyone to leave for the day with scripts.
Sources say that before starting the film, auditioning actors weren’t even allowed to read from the Breaking Dawn script, but rather read scenes from the first three Twilight scripts.
K-Stew and R-Patz aren’t even getting preferential treatment. They’ve gotta memorize those lines on set like everyone else!
While we could know their desire to keep things under wraps, would it be THAT huge a deal if the script leaked? Didn’t everybody already read the book?
We’re pretty sure the majority of Twi-hards know what happens.
What do U reckon? Is Summit’s security excessive? Or do U reckon they’re right to be paranoid?

Director Catherine Hardwicke Talks Red Riding Hood, the Twilight Casting Connection, and More!

Catherine Hardwicke helms this weekend’s new release Red Riding Hood, and we had a few minutes to talk to the director (perhaps best known for directing Twilight) about the new film and her talented cast. Hardwicke dished on star Amanda Seyfried (hear the actress’s kind words for Hardwicke and the film) and why she cast leading men Shiloh Fernandez and Max Irons. The Cast After Twilight, or: Still Obsessed?

Last week, it was finally nice out and I was at a cafe outside, reading Cosmopolis. A friend walks by and jokingly says, “Ha ha! Are you reading a book that isn’t Twilight?” Errm. Ha ha. Yes. Let’s not mention that I am reading it because Robert Pattinson has signed on to the film. It was on my To Be Read list before that, I swear. It was just waaay down near the bottom and then it suddenly appeared near the top. Ahem. I may have also rented one of the David Cronenberg movies I hadn’t already seen, one of the older ones that inexplicably features zombification via armpit worm (oh, the Seventies. What on earth was incorrect with you?).
My question to you, dear Twilighters: Will you still follow the cast after Breaking Dawn comes out? If so: will you follow all of them, or just the Cullens (and Anna Kendrick of course because she is adorable and crazy talented)? Will you see Kellan’s new movie, and if so, is it because he was Emmett or because he is shirtless? (Yow.)
When Will the trailer for ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1′ Premiere?

BSC Kids has a new article that speculates when the first official trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 will premiere. Could it be as soon as the MTV Awards? Maybe this summer with a movie like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2? Could it even be as late as Comic Con? No one knows yet, it’s anyone’s guess! Read more below:
Currently there is a rumor going around that it will premier during the MTV Movie Awards this summer. But, no one has confirmed nor denied this rumor.
I reckon that it will likely premier this summer, and maybe during the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 film? A couple of years ago they showed a Harry Potter film trailer before one of the Twilight films, so it would only be honest. But we will have to wait for an official statement to see when we can expect it to come out.

Let’s not forget Comic Con. There isn’t an official panel yet, but Comic Con would also be a excellent place for new Breaking Dawn footage or a trailer to premiere.

What do you reckon of the newly released title treatment?! Before they’re released, everyone likes to speculate what color the title treatment will be for the next film, so what do you reckon of this reddish color? Do you reckon Breaking Dawn part two will be red also, or another color?
Surprise Twilight and People’s Choice!
0This year for Christmas I got vampire fang socks (I know. Real vampires don’t have fangs. The socks still make me pleased), a vampire-a-day calendar, and, from Tarte, I just happen to really like the lip gloss color Twilight
. No really. It’s a excellent color.
(And I know there’s a Lip Venom, but it is sort of stingy and hurts my pathetically delicate face.)
But the best thing was a gift I gave to my husband, because it was a Surprise Twilight! I got him this really very cool Art Thing, because he is into modernist architecture and art and film noir. So something called Evil People in Modernist Homes in Well loved Films was an obvious buy.
Even though I had my brain set on Art School Education Mode, still, you can imagine my SQUEE when I saw this:
That is a seriously excellent house, and OMG! Hi guys!
As far as the title of the book: we can argue, quite correctly, that the Cullens are in no way evil*, but some people really have a “thing” about vampires in general. (Stereotyping is terrible, how many times do we have to prove that?)
This Surprise Twilight got me thinking: Do you reckon Twilight will be a long-standing pop culture influence, or is it a passing fad? It’s been around for a few years now and doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon. Eclipse just pulled in four People’s Choice Awards!
(Way to go, guys!)
Will someone looking at this Art Book in 10, 20 years reckon, “Who are these people?”, or will they reckon, “I should read that book again.” or, “Oh yes. Robert Pattinson just won his fifth Oscar this year.” (I am pulling for you, baby.)
*Unless you are PETA, but sometimes there is just no pleasing people.
