I bought three of the books. This one I couldn’t wait to go to the store or for it to be delivered from an online store. So, I downloaded it as an E-book. It cost more but was really worth it. Now I am going to order the last one so I can have the complete series. Stephanie enveloped us in a sea of emotion from beginning to end. I have watched everything from Nosferatu to the recent Moonlight series, over the years. I was very disappointed that the network (CBS) chose not to renew it and did so without warning. Apparently so were 8 million other viewers. But I digress…
I have read all of Ann Rice’s vampire books and other authors, as well. I loved it that he convinced her to marry him. The whole tale was wonderful. I loved the way she “wrapped” things up. Ms. Meyer told a vampire tale that was truly fresh, fun and dealt with a lot of teenage emotions. She treated her characters lovingly and patiently. She dealt with the expectation of violence from the two largest vampire clans in a manner that was believable.
The terrible reviews make no sense to me. But then I am older than a teenager. So perhaps I see it from a wiser and more relaxed (LOL) angle. Keep up the fantastic work Stephanie. I can’t wait for New Moon, the movie to be released in November. I have to buy all the videos, too. This is a must have collection for any vampire enthusiast.
Not only does the author condone teenage marriage in this book but also teenage pregnancy?
The pregnancy was a surprise. I didn’t see that one coming. But was it necessary? And the whole Jacob POV? Was that necessary also?
This book is not really an ending. We still have a disappointed Volturi element out there, lurking. What is going to happen? Jacob and Renesme fight them off?
I do have to say that Bella was always supposed to be a vampire. You could tell that from the first book when she could “smell” the blood. So it is no surprise that she took to it like a fish to water.
I do have a word for the publishers though. Who does the proofreading? A buck is a male deer, NOT an elk. Not only that but there were several spelling and grammatical errors. When I spend money on a book, I want an error free product.
I can’t believe anyone would give this whole series less than a 5 star rating. I finished the first both on feb 4. The second book started 2/7 at 1030pm fishes 2/8 at 11am book three Started 2/12 finshed 2/14 and started this last book 2/14 and finished 2/16 – only due to the size of. My only problem is there is no more to read!!!!! I loved this series… and have started reading it over – which I have NEVER in my life done before.
I absolutely like the entire series! I hear and see all the commotion about Edward and Jacob, but what about Bella? She is everything that any young woman should aspire to be. I have read all four books twice, own the first DVD and am waiting to buy the second. I have heard that there is a book or series of books written in Edward’s perspective of the tale, and can’t wait for it.
I was really looking forward to this book and hoped that it would be a fantastic read as the previous Twilight books have been. But as I got about half way through it, I was beginning to feel like I was reading more of a soap opera type novel instead of a thriller novel. I reckon the storyline took a turn for the worse and became a small too “over the top”. There were excellent parts to the novel and did delight in most of it, but there were some serious flaws in the tale nearing the end that just made me want to place it down. Unfortunate, as this has been one of my favorite series until now.
When I first read the reviews for this last installment, I was a small bummed…thought I was going to be disappointed..But I had to end the series….I read this book in like 2 days…I thought this last installement was the best with Eclipse in a close 2nd….
I don’t know why people are giving it a terrible review..,.. I don’t want to give anything away…but in Eclipse…you could figure out what was going to happen next in the series…… yes the middle to the end is a small fairytale like…BUT COME ON THE WHOLE SERIES IS LIKE A FAIRTALE!!! I loved it from the beginning to the end…I thought Ms. Meyer finally gave Bella a backbone. Can’t wait to see the next 3 in the series in the movies..
I had no thought people were so miserable with this book until I started looking online. I LOVED it! I am very much an adult bibliophile and I devoured each of the fabulous books in the Twilight series as quickly as I could get my hands on them. I loved the way Ms. Meyer tied her ends together and I found the last few chapters absolutely riveting. I don’t know why people were complaining so much, but I reckon this book is brilliant and really on par with the first three in the series. Rock on, Stephanie!
heres the thing: im extremely faithful to any author who can capture my attention. i dont read alot…so it really is something to get my attention. Anyways…i like the twilight series. To be honest, i treat everything as though it were real…
TEAM JACOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edward sucks…and he sparkles. Anyways, this book was incredible (in my opinion). The Jacob part of the book was the best thing that Meyers could’ve done. I was severely upset when bella was turned into a vamp…i was hoping she would end up with jake. (in my mind, they did) Becuase I despised Meyers ending…i have to knock a star off of my rating. Jacob wouldve been so much better. This coming from a guy’s view point.
