I had no thought people were so miserable with this book until I started looking online. I LOVED it! I am very much an adult bibliophile and I devoured each of the fabulous books in the Twilight series as quickly as I could get my hands on them. I loved the way Ms. Meyer tied her ends together and I found the last few chapters absolutely riveting. I don’t know why people were complaining so much, but I reckon this book is brilliant and really on par with the first three in the series. Rock on, Stephanie!

With the choice to marry finally settled, Bella and Edward can plot their lives together. Things do not go as plotted, but, as bizarreness (even for vampires!) ensues.
***Spoilers abound***
Review: For about the first half of this book, I was completely confused about why all the Breaking Dawn haters were giving this latest book from Meyer such a hard time. Okay, I was a bit bummed that Edward and Bella got married so quick – I was really on into the vision of them going to college together and all that excellent stuff. And I was even a small bitter that Bella got pregnant straight away. It through me to have a part of the book written from Jacob’s point of view, but I eventually grew okay with that as well. I was still on board. But, all of my general excellent feelings plummeted around page 375 when Bella is changed into a vampire and everything went down hill on a burning sleigh of doom. It seemed to me that it was similar to in some sit-coms – there’s all this romantic tension between two actors, when they get together, the tension is gone, and you realize it was much better when there was all that tension. Pfft. When there was all the tension between Edward and Bella because of her humanness I liked the two of them much better than I did once that tension was lifted. And don’t even get me started on the bizarrely named half vampire baby. Sorry Mrs. Meyer, I just couldn’t stay on board with this one.

When I first read the reviews for this last installment, I was a small bummed…thought I was going to be disappointed..But I had to end the series….I read this book in like 2 days…I thought this last installement was the best with Eclipse in a close 2nd….
I don’t know why people are giving it a terrible review..,.. I don’t want to give anything away…but in Eclipse…you could figure out what was going to happen next in the series…… yes the middle to the end is a small fairytale like…BUT COME ON THE WHOLE SERIES IS LIKE A FAIRTALE!!! I loved it from the beginning to the end…I thought Ms. Meyer finally gave Bella a backbone. Can’t wait to see the next 3 in the series in the movies..

I bought three of the books. This one I couldn’t wait to go to the store or for it to be delivered from an online store. So, I downloaded it as an E-book. It cost more but was really worth it. Now I am going to order the last one so I can have the complete series. Stephanie enveloped us in a sea of emotion from beginning to end. I have watched everything from Nosferatu to the recent Moonlight series, over the years. I was very disappointed that the network (CBS) chose not to renew it and did so without warning. Apparently so were 8 million other viewers. But I digress…
I have read all of Ann Rice’s vampire books and other authors, as well. I loved it that he convinced her to marry him. The whole tale was wonderful. I loved the way she “wrapped” things up. Ms. Meyer told a vampire tale that was truly fresh, fun and dealt with a lot of teenage emotions. She treated her characters lovingly and patiently. She dealt with the expectation of violence from the two largest vampire clans in a manner that was believable.
The terrible reviews make no sense to me. But then I am older than a teenager. So perhaps I see it from a wiser and more relaxed (LOL) angle. Keep up the fantastic work Stephanie. I can’t wait for New Moon, the movie to be released in November. I have to buy all the videos, too. This is a must have collection for any vampire enthusiast.

After reading the first 3 books in this saga, I had high hopes for the fourth installment. Sadly, it didn’t wrap it up as I would have wished. Bella does became a Vampire (finally) but not without several missteps in my opinion.
Bella and Edward finally tie the knot and do the deed, it’s too terrible that Meyer writes the like scenes as fade to black, but I guess she was keeping in mind the younger set that has been reading these novels. Still, Bella is human, not turned yet. So since Edward and Bella consummate the marriage she gets pregnant. When Edward realizes she is with child he is none too pleased, with-in a matter of weeks the baby inside her grows considerably, threatening her very life. He wants her to get an abortion to save herself, but she refuses and decides to keep the baby…meanwhile she enlist the help of Rosalie to make sure no one forces her to get rid of the child. It’s at this point that the book takes a dreadful turn that sadly left me a small bit sick and depressed about where Meyers took the characters. First she has Edward fighting Bella at every turn to rid herself of the child (“it” as he calls it), then she has Bella trying to keep a baby that is clearly killing her and that she will give birth to in a matter of months — not in 9 months. Not to mention Rosalie??? Who in each book before has been nothing much more than a total snob and brat, but now she is Bella’s only protector and is dead set on making sure Bella has the child even though it is going to kill her. Jacob (the like struck Werewolf) shows up of course and is disgusted over Bella’s appearance and choice to keep the child as well. Then there are a few chapters all thru Jacobs’s eyes, which is very frustrating. Several chapters in, Bella starts to give birth – which how Meyers writes it reminded me of a horror scene from “Alien” when the bloody baby alien shoots from the man’s chest (not pleasant). The intensity of the labor does really kill Bella which forces Edward into making her a vampire in order to save her. She spends 3 days in a burning hell before she wakes up to a new world as a Vampire.
Okay- now the book gets excellent…Her skills are unparallel; she has an enormous amount of control regardless of being a new born Vamp. Her child starts to grow in leaps and bounds as everyone falls in like with it, except for me, because the child reminds me way to much of Rosemary’s baby – she can talk to you thru your mind, by showing you things – freaky! During all of this the head Vampires in Italy grow restless and choose that they want to add some new blood to their court. They are of course very interested in Bella, Edward, and Alice who all have special skills that they wish to obtain by means of force if necessary, they use the birth of their child as an excuse to come check things out. For dread for their child and their life’s they join forces with several other vampires and the Were’s. This all leads to a show down where vampires and werewolves may battle it out in a last stand sort of way.
First half pretty excellent, middle not that fantastic, end awesome!
