This book illustrates 100% the emotional roller coaster that is a teen’s everyday life; one word covers it all–real. “People like others not for who they are, but for how they make them feel.”–Irwin Federman. That is exactly what Teen Ink’s most soul-stirring book yet emulates. Teen Ink: Like and Relationships is filled with heartfelt tales, art and poems, some painful, and some joyous. Yet, regardless of the emotions, each entry captures the right essence of being a teenager. This is a masterpiece, causing me to laugh and weep along with each tale, remembering the same emotions I once felt and causing me to nervously await my own relationships. Not only does Like and Relationships speak to teens like me but adults too; bringing back memories of high-school crushes, parental relations and the way they felt when they lost a friend. This book is so magical that I can’t wait to show my friends, hopefully each tale will touch their hearts and souls as it has touched mine. Like and Relationships not only entertained me but also provided hope that I too would make it out of my teenage years, alive and a stronger person. Thank you, Teen Ink, for providing a manual on teenage life that teens, siblings, parents, boyfriends and even teachers should read if they truly want to know what its like to be a teen. Go ahead, read it–I dare you.
