I like the lyrics in all the songs. And I reckon this soundtrack exposed me to a lot of new artists that I now thrilled to have learned. Paramore’s sound rocks and though I knew of Iron and Wine before, this song makes me want to dance in the moonlight under stars just like the movie
I reckon overall the soundtrack is fantastic. I am pleased with my buy. The only song I can’t stand to listen to is “Go All The Way” by Perry Farrell. The lyrics are beyond Cheesy making it painful for me to listen to. I DID listen to it all the way through a few times trying to be objective about it but…ooh the cheese! It has a nice beat but that’s all the praise I have for it. Bella’s lullaby is pretty. Not what I expected, but it’s still gorgeous to listen to. Now last but not least Rob Pattinson’s song…I really like it, the melody is fantastic and he has a excellent soothing voice. I just wish I could know what he is saying. Is it just me or is everyone else having a problem deciphering it? Maybe I need my ears cleaned!
I LIKE LIKE LIKE this soundtrack. I’m 25 and not as into alternative music as I used to be, and at first I was a small place off by the obscurity of a couple of the groups presented. I despised the Muse song & the Perry Farrell song, and didn’t care for the rest of them. I contented myself listening to the Mutemath & Paramore songs over and over. Gradually though, I broke out of my rut and the rest of the album snuck in, track by track. I have listened to it nonstop since the day it came out. I am rereading Twilight now and it seems a small more real because nearly every song on the soundtrack is so atmospheric, but with an edge.
A couple notes:
Check out Bella’s Lullaby composer Carter Burwell’s blog. He tells the tale of how the song was born, and how he never wanted it to be called Bella’s Lullaby, because he wrote it as ‘Like Theme’. He talks of the studio wanting a sweet small piano piece, which he could not provide. He never intended for the whole piece to become the Lullaby and feels that it will inevitably disappoint those expecting the sweet, simple piano melody.
Rob Pattinson’s music is not a highlight here. I was impressed by his talent, and agree wholeheartedly with the comparisons to Jeff Buckley. But, there is not much substance here, and his fantastic vocal talent is lost under his mumbling. It fits in with the soundtrack because it is so atmospheric, but try to remember that he is not an experienced recording artist.
Bottom line: You are missing out if you don’t get this soundtrack.
To those who have read the other reviews, and to those who’ve WRITTEN reviews about this SOUNDTRACK: If you’re looking for the version of BELLA LULLABY that was played by Edward Cullen/ Robert Pattinson in the movie, buy the SCORE to the movie, not the SOUNDTRACK. The score is the songs and sound clips from the movie, the soundtrack is the edited and fine tuned versions of the songs in the movie plus some songs inspired by it.
I thought the producer did an excellant job choosing this soundtrack. As stated by Stephenie, Muse was one of her inspirations for writing and I can see why, it’s incredible!
I really loved this movie & the soundtrack is brilliant. I couldn’t wait to buy this cd. There’s lots of fantastic songs on it, my absolute favorite is ‘Go All the Way’ by Perry Farrell – I’m playing it over & over again…I also like ‘Tremble for my Beloved’ by Collective Soul (been a fan of theirs since their very first album), I like ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ by Muse, and a delightful surprise is the songs by Rob Pattinson (Twilight’s sexy vampire lead) – ‘Never Reckon’ & ‘Let Me Sign’ – he has a fantastic voice & a wonderful musicality. I look very forward to hearing more of his music. I highly recommend the soundtrack, it’s got a fantastic variety of songs, I like pretty much all of them, and it’s a cd that you can listen to over & over again…
I was already familiar with the original Twilight soundtrack, and was intrigued by the additional five tracks this one contains. A fantastic addition to the mix: one original song, one song performed live, and several acoustic or remixes. Really worth it!!
I became an obsessed fan of the movie and every bit as much attracted to this soundtract; it brought me back to the movie while I was reading the next book and gave my imagination the pictures of the characters all too vividly going through my head so that my own movie was being played without even being place out there yet. I cannot tell you how much I truly loved all of this music, and I am ancient enough to be a mother to most of these characters–I am very musically inclined as are most of my family -so all of us delight in a fantastic variety of choices in tastes of music, and this is surely one of my top choices.

Loved the soundtrack, I wish the other song by Robert Pattinson (where Bella is dying) was included.
