In The Book, Does The Vampire In Twilight Put Make-up On To Look White Or Is That How His Skin Naturally Is?

The reason I question is because in the movie, he just looks like he’s wearing white make-up and if he’s supposed to have naturally white skin, the movie make up fails. So what is it?

In the book its his natural skin color due to the fact he’s basically dead. His heart doesn’t beat and he only breaths out of habit. The movie did no justice for the book, I was highly dissapointed with the poor make up skills and the acting as well. Kristen stewart described Bella so poorly, let’s hope New Moon is better.
It is natural in a vampire to have super white skin that glitters like diamonds when struck by sunlight… Of course, the actors playing a vampire role in the movie need to wear make-up to make them look white because it is one of the characteristics of the characters they are playing… Am I making sense here?
In the books their skin is marble white (except in the sun when it looks like thousands of sparkling diamonds).
Obviously no human fits that description, and without the real Cullen’s coming forward (smiles at the stupidity of that), they have to use make up on in the movies…
Its supposed to be natural.
But even it was supposed to be fake, the movie would still fail. Like the books (at least the first ones) but the movie… *shudders*
book = naturally
movie = MAKE UP
I have the same question as you and I reckon they are make-up TOO white.
